Ernest Siva, Cahuilla-Serrano Ernest H. Siva is a well-known tribal elder and cultural teacher who grew up on the Morongo Indian Reservation in Southern California. He has earned bachelors and masters degrees in music education.

Deborah Miranda, PhD (Ohlone-Costanoan Esselen)
As Associate Professor of English at Washington and Lee University, Deborah teaches Creative Writing (poetry and memoir), composition, and a variety of literatures concerned with race, gender and ethnicity.

Joely Proudfit, PhD (Luiseño)
Dr. Proudfit holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science with emphasis in Public Policy and American Indian Studies from Northern Arizona University and a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Law from California State University, Long Beach.
GOVERNMENT

Anthony Pico (Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians)
Anthony Pico, Kumeyaay, Viejas Indian Reservation, is a dynamic public servant and activist for the California Indian People. He is a war veteran and has served the Viejas band many years as its chairman.
COMMUNITY

Ernie C. Salgado Jr. (Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians)
Mr. Salgado has served the California Indian community for more than 30 years. He has served multiple terms as the Soboba band tribal chairman and he recently founded CALIE.ORG and is the editor of THEINDIANREPORTER.COM.

Chief Judge Anthony Brandenburg (Intertribal Courts of Southern california)
Judge Brandenburg is currently serving as Chief Judge of Intertribal Court of Southern California. Brandenburg's career has included more than 16 years of service on the bench In both the Municipal and Superior Courts at the Vista courthouse. In addition, he has been a lawyer in private practice, an entrepreneur, and an educator.

Eva Salazar (Kumeyaay)
Eva Salazar is a professional California Indian artist who specializes in creating magnificant rattlesnake Mission Indian juncus basket art and teaching her art and culture on reservations and public school system.

Joseph Burton, Lusieño
Joe Burton, Soboba Indian reservation, earned a full basketball scholarship with the Oregan State University Beavers. He met President Obama in December 2009 during a basketball game and later at the White House.
