								ADAM CASTILLO (1885-1953)
Cahuilla, Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians
Adam Castillo (Cahuilla) is perhaps best remembered in Indian Country as the highly-revered 20th century President of the Mission Indian Federation MIF.
Mr. Castillo also served honorably as Chairman of the Soboba Band of Mission Indians (now known as the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians), an indigenous California tribe that has occupied Southern California for thousands of years.

This 8-foot wide framed historical restoration print of the 1920 MIF Convention in Riverside, California — dedicated in memory of Ernest Salgado, Sr. by Ahmium Education, Inc. — is part of the Mission Indian Federation documentary project Ernie Salgado, Jr. is developing “The Struggle, Adaptation and Survival of the Aboriginal Native People.”
